How I did Spiritual Bill Paying

After interviewing Barbie Dallman last week one of my big take aways was Spiritual Bill Paying
Barbie encouraged me to sit with my bills and give thanks as I wrote each check. She actually writes GLADLY on the bottom of each check before she signs it.
So, last night hubby and I sat down and placed all the bills in front of us.

In one hour of working with my colleague Barbie Dallman (financial fun wizard), I changed my relationship with my money–again, and became the President and CEO of my money.
In a powerful internal exercise, my money called me on the phone and invited me to come for a visit. I had no idea what my money wanted, but I was headed in that direction and so I stopped by. “What a beautiful home,” I thought. A huge Victorian home surrounded by trees and vegetation of all kinds filled my imagination. When I knocked on the door my money opened it with such exuberance. She was very happy to see me and invited me into the parlor. I noticed how clean my money’s home is and what beautiful objects furnished this home. I was impressed that it was not cluttered and there was a sense of deep respect for the items that live there. I don’t know why, but I was surprised by all the ideas that flowed from my money. She is energetic and full of life. Today, I learned that my money wants to create with me on a much bigger playing field that I ever have before.

Manifesting Money with Barbie

Resentment of other people’s success (and money) is the biggest mistake we make. We have an idea that there isn’t enough to go around and if someone else has something, we can’t have it. TIP: Notice how you feel when something you want is owned by someone else. For instance, if a new car drives by, are you envious? jealous? excited? Just noticing your reaction will help change your attitude.
Paying bills and taxes is a way of moving the energy. Be grateful for opportunity to pay bills. Use the time of paying bills as a spiritual practice. Barbie writes “gladly” on her checks only after coming to a place of gratitude with each bill she pays. As she pays bills, she is happy to invest in hot showers and a roof over her head. She thinks about the people who work in the companies she sends the checks to. She is empowered to know that she is part of the circle and knowing that when she pays her electric bill, she is making it possible for someone else to work.
Instead of being resentful when you are paying taxes, invest your money when you pay taxes. Focus on your favorite investment. Barbie imagines all her tax money going to the park system. Where do you want to invest your tax money?
Barbie talks about how her mind works around budgeting. Not how most of us approach it, but very illuminating. She says to remember back to Halloween (maybe our first time we ‘owned’ something) and how you interacted with your candy. Barbie separated it out, made a plan as to how and when she would eat it. How did you interact with your candy? Did you hide it? Did you gorge? Did you give it all away? Did you get more or less than others? Does this illuminate any of your beliefs or behaviors around money today?
Barbie recommends that you invest your money on a conscious level, which included asking questions as you are investing.

Barbie shared with me a few thoughts about her work and coaching:
An area where I excel is helping people make sense of bookkeeping and money management. I am particularly good at working with right-brained creative business owners who can’t quite seem to embrace the seemingly rigid structures of accounting, budgets, and taxes. I work as both coach and consultant, helping them to identify their “issues” with money and then helping them create a system that really works for them. I told you I would give you the key to never having to spend your money again! And here it is: All you have to do is change your language to shift your consciousness. It’s that simple.
Stop spending your money and start investing your money. Do I mean don’t buy food? No, I mean stop spending your money on food and start investing your money on food. Do I mean don’t spend your money on a cup of coffee? No, I mean start investing your money in a cup of coffee.
For the next week try this shift in language. Tell me how it feels in your body to invest this level of awareness around money. Why?
This month is financial abundance month. We’re talking about it on the blog and on the Live Your Divine Purpose radio show.
That means we’re talking money, cash. Having some. Talking about it, making some, attracting some, being deserving. Getting it out in the open and not being afraid.
MONEY.
Say it out loud. Go ahead.
I’d like some money. A lot of money. I would like to have $1,000 or $100,00 in the bank. Or $1, 000,000. I deserve to have money. I am a good person.
