JoLynn,
I believe fear is meant to inform us of danger, but all too often it becomes an automatic response to every desire and dream we have. When this happens many of us give into the fear and let go of our dreams. My suggestion is not "no fear" but to "know fear" Understand it. Allow it to inform you but not control you.

I can really relate to feeling the fear with so many things - my challenge is to feel it and take action anyway, while still having fun with whatever it is that I'm doing. :)

I've had this same struggle, CK. Lots of fear in my childhood, some justified and some not. I've taken an approach similar to Robert's (above). I thank the voice of fear, listen for a moment to discern what's being expressed, and then say to it, "You've had your say, now I''m taking a different direction." That keeps me from suppressing my inner voice, even the inner voice of fear. Its acknowledged, but then I move past it as best I can.

hugs to you and Michelle too!

Fear is anticipation of pain, and sadly, most of the time the pain is actually not exist or not as big as what we have expected.

"Thank you for sharing", a statement that you can tell your fear not to stop you what you really have to do!

An article here on fighting fear or small voice...

Fear says OUCH!!! but then I drop into my heart.. Usually I feel better, less fearful.... but sometimes it tells me to run, get away, and once that was a very good thing. Nice post CK. Thanks

Fear is the fence that holds the herd of mediocrity, it makes cowards of otherwise strong men and women but worst of all fear robs its victims of the joy they deserve.

This is a wonderful post. I think anytime people are encouraged to get to the root of their fear, its a very good thing.
