Joe,

I don't know for sure, but it sounds like you haven't had the support you've needed to take your dreams into reality.

There are many things that stand between us and our dreams. Among them are beliefs and perspectives that we hold as immovable. Coaching is designed to ask the right questions so that people can get the results they want for their lives. Oddly enough this process may take people in directions they never thought of.

Having someone on your side that can listen at deep levels is invaluable. A coach will ask the tough questions, point you to your own wisdom, sift through fantasy and reality issues, and hold you accountable for accomplishing what you want in your life.

Have you ever had that kind of support? I hear your pain... and I'm curious what your life would be like if you didn't put so much effort in your dreams. Would you be any less angry? or simply regretful that you didn't try?

How do you take responsibility for what you've created? and how do you take responsibility for your next steps in life? Get the support you need and realize that these years would have gone by whether you invested in your dreams or not. I choose the journey of going for it! and getting the help I need along the way.

What do you do when You put 13 years and counting into your dream, had yet another dream you gave up for it and neither come true

What do you do when you have thrown away 13 plus years of your life for nothing, committment, hell I worked at living my dream 15 to 20 hours a day and what got for it in the end, wound up flat broke, desititute homeless and loser.

No the dreams of this world are really nightmares in disguise, why? Because by the time you realized you have deceived yourself its to late and you cannot get back the years stolen from you.

This is the bill of goods and the horshit the world sells a dead end road called a dream that really is a nightmare in disguies because you become a God Damn Slave to the illusion you think is making you real.

CK,

The Negative Nancy's were people that I grew up with. I think it was partly that if I was doing anything out of the scope of what they did themselves, they felt uncomfortable. I don't think they consciously knew that they resent anyone being more "successful" than they were, but I think that is what it was.

Finding the supportive friends was pure luck. We were relocated and I basically fell into a circle of awesome women. Everything I am currently involved with started either with my Realtor (and first friend in my new town) or the mom's group I joined after moving here.

Some of them are my cheerleaders and supporters in different efforts. Others are right there with me in project.

I still meet people that have the critical outlook, but now it is easier for me to recognize it. I have more guarded interactions with those types of people. My friends and confidants are the people with a similar outlook and mentality. We try to build up and create rather than criticize and tear down.

I think another key is that you have to be able to be excited and supportive of the success of others if you want to be successful yourself. I have seen so many people who tear down, tear down, tear down, and then when they take the leap themselves and launch a project or business that negativity follows them.

Carla, How did this make a difference? What are you doing now that's different? Specifically, how do your friends encourage you today?

How did you make the shift of circles of friends? What made you change them? Was there an event?

I think for me the most important thing is to be around positive and supportive people. There was a time in my life when all of the "friends" I had were ones that discouraged me from doing anything out of the box.

It made a world of difference when I got into a circle of friends that were not only supportive, but excited about what I was doing.

Corinne, I didn't know that... 21 times? Well, I'm so inspired by Mary Patrick that can't wait to see more of this 'overnight success.'

I think there are lot's of ways to live our dreams if we look underneath what we are wanting to do. Even with a publishing contract that probably isn't really the dream. Sometimes we need to dig... a little. Perhaps the publishing is a container to fulfill something even bigger than that. Although, I wouldn't turn down a contract to publish my book that will be coming out in the fall. I'd probably go get a wooden leg for my horse!

Loved the interview that Michelle did with Mary Patrick. Can't wait to read the book.

The first "Chicken Soup" book was turned down by 21 publishers before it was picked up and sold around 30 MILLION copies!

If she sells 10,000 on her own, publishers will take a second look.

On the other hand, there is always the possiblility that you are trying to race a -

three legged horse!

And it is time to give up that dream and look for another.
