Too many people want to be rich but they keep sabotaging themselves by thinking that having a lot of money is bad.

I'm making the 100 ways of earning extra money list, except I'm making it 50, like after the Paul Simon song "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover". It will take some creativity, but I'm going to do it.

Great Idea!!!

It's wonderful to have this discussion:
Evan: Yes, if we can make money at our passion - fabulous! but we 'shouldn't' (there's THAT word) wait until everything lines up to either have money or follow our passions...:) when it does - watch out world!
Cheryl thanks for the long comment. I love the extra resources. Have you read The Four hour workweek? Great book.
Andrea. I've also found that saying YES to the money that is coming our way, and not stopping the flow. Accepting money when it does come in from clients - and other sources, and not staying small in our own beliefs. Thanks for coming by - I love your blog!
Corinne: I am not a bank I am not a bank... -
Stephen - Thanks for pulling the Law of Attraction in.
HINT, for those that left comments and your photo doesn't show, try leaving your site url without the www. I edited it out and most of the photos came up. Don't know how to fix that though...

Michelle!

What a beautifully designed site! I love it - it radiates love, energy and power. I'm impressed with the overall design!

And now for the topic at hand.

I agree that none of us are a bank - there's only one bank and that's the Unlimited Bank of the Universe. I have a check taped to a small PC speaker on my desk that is written out to me for $1 million. I see it every day. It's impossible not to. This sends a signal to my subsconcious that I am worthy and that I can be in a position to receive that kind of money.

But there's one other thought. I've been thinking what if we just focused on the essence of what money will bring rather than the actual amount:? For instance, if we focus on the sense of freedom it will bring us or a sense of financial well being, wouldn't we have a better chance of attracting it?

Nice job Michelle!

A great article, Michelle.

One other point. I have many women who are in business as life coach clients.

Their main problem is not the having of money. It is asking for the money that is due them. Much more prevelant with women than men.

My favorite sentences to them are:

"YOU ARE NOT A BANK."

or

"IF YOU WANT CREDIT GET A CREDIT CARD!" (There is always Paypal.)

Great article! It's so true that there are many beliefs in collective consciousness that consider money "unspiritual."

My attitude is that money is how we exchange energy in the physical world. I'd love to do my work for free (I actually love and adore my job!) but I find that my clients receive more benefit if they invest themselves in the process. And we invest ourselves with our money. If we want to figure out where our energy goes ... follow the money!

Many of us Lightworkers are very giving people who are not nearly as good at receiving. And so if money isn't coming our way, there are blocks to receiving energy back from our efforts in the world. We have created an energetic one-way street that has become a limitation.

Blessings,
Andrea

Beautiful post. I first listened to Byron Katie on an Audible recording I made for my weekly 3 hour commute to and from my job location at the time. It was then that I made a determination that I would stay in my current job for as long as I needed to get to the golden federal retirees nest egg. I say this because if I wasn't close to reaching my early retirement age I would have quit then (2 1/2 years ago).

Those 4 questions saved me from quitting then because I was very unhappy with my job, my boss and the horrible commute.

I also found Rebecca Fine's Science of Getting Rich site around the same time (among so much more) and read Wallace Wattle's timeless book. It's so simple, know what you want and visualize it daily. Being stuck in a job, the knowing what I want part was hard for me because my current reality was (and still is to a lesser degree) filled with that reality. My imagination needs some strong muscles these days.

A couple of nights ago I wrote something on Hubpages about my purpose in life. I did my best to rewrite appropriately, but from within the stream of consciousness place I wrote it comparing the Industrial Age to the current Knowledge Age (coined by Stephen Covey in the 8th Habit), I came to the conclusion that it's no wonder we have trouble seeing ourselves as rich and feeling good about it (not even going into our Puritanical baggage).

While it is true that Andrew Carnegie was history's most prolific philanthropist, most of his peers were not. The Industrial Age was really and age of paid slave labor and I think on some level, culturally we're still stuck there.

I didn't plan on writing such a long comment, I love what you're doing. Thank you.
